Are you feeling tired all the time? Struggling to lose weight and feel good in your own body? Looking for a diet approach that works for your individual needs?

You are not alone. The world of healthy eating and nutrition can be confusing and overwhelming. One day, a food is healthy, and the next, the news headlines claim that it’s toxic. Celebrities and ‘health gurus’ promote a different fad diet every other week, but they promise that this diet is the solution to all of your problems.

So, how can you know which foods are good for you?

I’m Dr Jyothsna Rao (pronounced ‘Jos-na’), and I’m here to help.

As an evidence-based, university-qualified nutritionist, I’ve seen the power of food as medicine. Every process that occurs in your body relies on nutrients, and the way to get those nutrients is through your food choices.

Thanks to my extensive studies in human nutrition and physiology, I understand many of the complexities in the human body. But as a university lecturer, I can simplify this knowledge, so you can apply it in your daily life.

My mission is to help you find the right approach for you – based on your needs, your goals, your preferences and your lifestyle. After all, a mother with low energy and 3 kids to juggle will have completely different needs to an elite athlete! Healthy eating can be easy when you have a nutritionist on your team.

Some of the health concerns I enjoy working with include:

  • Pre-diabetes or insulin resistance
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Thyroid problems including hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and FODMAP diet
  • Inability to lose weight and weight loss plateaus

I also enjoy helping people transition to a vegetarian or vegan diet and preventing nutrient deficiencies from occurring. There is more to a balanced plant-based diet than just protein intake – it’s essential to get a balance of essential micronutrients as well. Even if you’re just curious about whether plant-based eating is right for you, I’m happy to help.

The time to start working on your health is now. So, if you’re tired of worrying about which diet is right for you, it’s time to get some personalised support. Together, we can create a plan to support your health now and for many years to come.
